St John Visit

We learnt about becoming first responders. How to keep ourselves safe in different situations we face, using DR ABC's, the side stable position, how to treat deep cuts and also how we would handle one of our class members if we went tramping and they got hypothermia.
We had a lot of fun and we learnt a lot! Thank-you Kirsty and St John for such a great program!

Critical thinking in Maths

Using information we are given we can create further 'wonderings.' Our final equation... "I am building a fence it has a total length of 48m - what does my fence look like?
How could we should this with materials?
How can we create a system to show all possible solutions?
What shapes could the fence be?
How do we need to use proportions and ratios to make statements true?

Touch Rugby

Otago Touch Rugby came in to teach us ball skills, dodging, space, running straight and how to work together as a team. We had a lot of fun and learn a lot in a short amount of time!

Speeches

We have studied Countries looking at water, food, education and gender equality. We wrote our speeches together and then presented these to the class so they were able to learn more about what life is like in each others countries.
Here are a few photos of us presenting

Change

This term we are looking at 'Change'. Things that have changed over time, changing our persepctive, change in mathematics, change in technology and more. "If you want to make the world a better place- take a look at yourself and make that Change." Change has come from people or a person who stood for something or invented something- change is a positive thing! We can be the change we want to see in the world. Have a look at our amazing topic table!
